Official closing ceremony of the Fourth Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth was held in Nakhchivan

The official closing ceremony of the Fourth Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth "Heydar Aliyev - 100", which took place in Nakhchivan within the framework of "Heydar Aliyev Year", was held today.

Declaring the ceremony open, Vasila Vahidgizi, department head of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, has expressed a hope that the camp dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the great leader Heydar Aliyev will leave an indelible mark in the memory of young people.

Then, a video summary of the weeklong Summer Camp was demonstrated.

Fuad Najafli, plenipotentiary representative of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic, expressed his satisfaction of being the host of the camp. Fuad Najafli added that participants had a chance to familiarize themselves with the reconstruction and construction works carried out in Nakhchivan and the historical sights of an ancient land. He has emphasized that great works are planned to be done in Nakhchivan in the next five years thanks to the implementation of the "State Program for the Socio-Economic Development of the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for 2023-2027", approved by President Ilham Aliyev. Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee on Work with  Diaspora, thanked the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and plenipotentiary representation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic for their support in organizing the Fourth Summer Camp. The Chairman of the committee stressed that these camps, aim to intensify the relations of the Azerbaijani youth living abroad with the motherland and to reinforce their attachment to their roots and Azerbaijani culture, in accordance with the recommendations of President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva. He called on the youth to be more active in diaspora activity and the promotion of Azerbaijani truths.

After presenting certificates to the camp participants, the event continued with an artistic part.

It should be noted that the Fourth Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth, which lasted from August 12 to 18, was organized by the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan in partnership with Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Plenipotentiary representation of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan in the Nakhchivan Autonomous Republic rendered organizational support to the Camp.

More than 100 young people representing 53 countries participated in the Fourth Summer Camp. The participants comprised of the Azerbaijanis living abroad, as well as representatives of friendly nations.   Holding the Camp in the ancient city of Nakhchivan, where Heydar Aliyev was born a century ago had a special importance and value.
