The Azerbaijani Society operating at the University of Edinburgh, Scotland, organized an event dedicated to the October 18 - Day of Restoration of Azerbaijan's Independence.

Participants were provided with detailed information about Azerbaijan’s history of state independence and the steps taken to preserve national identity and culture. The significance of Azerbaijan restoring its state independence in 1991 for the Azerbaijani people was emphasized. The event took place in a warm and enjoyable atmosphere, with participants experiencing pleasant moments filled with engaging conversations, exchange of ideas, and gifts.

Elmar Amirov, Head of Azerbaijani Society, noted that such events play an important role in preserving the national identity of our young compatriots living abroad and strengthening their connection to our country.

The event was also attended by members of the Turkish Society at the University of Edinburgh and the Central Asian Turkic Societies. This helped create a broader environment for cultural cooperation and mutual understanding during the event.
