“Utah-Azerbaijan Friendship Organization” participated in the “Language Fair” festival

The “Utah-Azerbaijan Friendship Organization” participated in the “Language Fair” festival, held at Brigham Young University in the state of Utah, USA, where the languages and cultures of different nations were showcased.

At the event, held at the Wilkinson Student Centre of the university, a special stand was set up to present materials highlighting the Azerbaijani language and rich cultural heritage. Azerbaijani stand attracted special interest from visitors.

The national flag of Azerbaijan, national symbols, souvenirs, as well as visual materials reflecting the Azerbaijan’s history and rich cultural heritage were displayed. Visitors were provided with comprehensive information about the Azerbaijani language, taught commonly used everyday expressions, and introduced to the unique features of the language.

Additionally, brochures and presentation materials about Azerbaijan’s history, geography, and multicultural values helped to create a more comprehensive and positive impression of our country among the guests.

The active participation of our compatriots in such an international platform has been regarded as a commendable step in terms of promoting the Azerbaijani language and culture on a global scale and strengthening the positive image of our country.

It should be noted that Azerbaijani language courses have been organized at Brigham Young University at regular intervals since 2023, on the initiative of Asmar Garayeva, Chairwoman of the Utah–Azerbaijan Friendship Organization. Initially attended by 11 students, these courses have attracted significant interest from students of various communities, including Americans. In addition to learning the Azerbaijani language, students also have the opportunity to become closely acquainted with the culture, national cuisine, and traditions of Azerbaijan.
