The staff of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora visited the “Karabakh” weekend school in Nantes, France, and familiarized with the teaching process.

It was emphasized that school named after the Karabakh region which holds great importance for Azerbaijan and the Turkic world, was established in Nantes on the initiative of First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan and President of Heydar Aliyev Foundation Mehriban Aliyeva, and continues its activities successfully.

The principal of the school, operating under the State Committee on Work with Diaspora Toghrul Zeynalov and teacher Aynura Hajiyeva delivered presentations on an institution’s activities.

Deputy Chairman Vagif Seyidbayov highlighted the importance of the school’s activities and noted that the knowledge and values formed there would play a significant role in the future lives of Azerbaijanis, and wished them continued educational success.

The meeting took place in an atmosphere of productive exchange of views and open dialogue.

During the discussion, held with the participation of the school staff and parents, it was noted that the weekend school not only teaches language and culture but also helps to develop a new generation of diaspora youth equipped with modern digital skills and global thinking, contributing to a positive image of Azerbaijan abroad.

At the end of the event, students presented a cultural program featuring different literary compositions, recited poems, performed pieces of national music. Their performances were met with great enthusiasm. The program demonstrated not only entertainment but also the importance of preserving and passing on national identity, language, and cultural heritage to future generations.

It should be noted that nearly 100 weekend Azerbaijani schools operate in the 24 countries of the world. The Azerbaijani state provides these schools, including the “Karabakh” weekend Azerbaijani school in Nantes, established on April 20, 2019, with all necessary support and resources.
