USA hosted the American-Azerbaijani Youth Forum

The American-Azerbaijani Youth Forum was held at the George Washington University, situated in Washington, the capital of USA.

Azerbaijani students, studying at the George Washington University and 21 various states and cities of the USA and professors, as well as Azerbaijani diplomats working in Washington took part in the Forum.

The event began with the National Anthems of Azerbaijan and the United States and continued with one minute silence, as a mark of respect to the dear memory of martyrs, who died for the territorial integrity of our country.

Kanan Mammadov, Chairman of the Association of Azerbaijani Students of George Washington University, Nabat Eminova, Head of the American-Azerbaijani Student Organization, and Leyla Aslanova, Head of the American Youth Federation, greeted the guests with an introductory speech.

Elshad Mammadov, the deputy chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora gave information in his speech about the activities of the Committee, implemented projects, Azerbaijani houses, operating abroad, Coordination Councils and V Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth, held in Lachin in August. He emphasized the importance of the joint activity of Azerbaijani youth and students.

Munavvar Vahabova, chairman of the Alliance of American-Azerbaijani Organizations and Sevinj Mammadova, the professor of George Washington University brought to attention the importance and benefits of the discussions, stated such measures would contribute to the strengthening of existing mutual relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the United States, wished success to the participants.

Reyhan Jamalova, studying in computer science at the University of Pennsylvania, expressed her satisfaction with her participation in the forum and the exchange of ideas with our compatriots who have achieved success in the United States.

Asmar Bayramova, who studied at the Georgia Institute of Technology on the basis of a state scholarship, stated that she was proud of the sounding of the Azerbaijani national anthem and the waving of the Azerbaijani flag in one of the most important countries around the world

Ulvi Verdiyev, engaged in self-employment in the mining industry in the USA, pointed out that our compatriots studying and working in different states of that country represent Azerbaijan well.

Farid Akhundov, who attended the forum from New York and studied there, spoke about the positive impact of such forums on the future activities of young people.

At the event, exchange of ideas and discussions were negotiated on various topics, videos and group presentations about the work done by the Committee and our diaspora were shown.

Subsequently, panel discussions were held on titled "Integration of youth through education", "A new generation of Azerbaijani Americans: My world, my soul, my expectations", "Dream, believe, achieve it: Unity of youth for change" and others. Also, a video about the 5th Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth held in Lachin and a film dedicated to the martyrs called "History lesson" were shown.

The forum continued with the artistic part where our national music and national dances were performed.

The event has come to end with the presentation of diplomas to the participants and the displaying of video called "Together".
