An evening celebrating the works of Faig Sujaddinov, People’s Artist of Azerbaijan and composer was held at the Lapidarium Gallery, located in the centre of Prague, the capital of the Czech Republic.

The event was organized by the Coordination Council of Azerbaijanis Living in Eastern Europe for the Czech Republic and the Prague Azerbaijan House with the support of the Fund for Support to Azerbaijani Diaspora under the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The event was attended by Yashar Aliyev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Czech Republic, members of the Azerbaijani diaspora, and representatives of the local community.

During the evening, composer Faig Sujaddinov performed excerpts from his works dedicated to the Motherland, native land, and sublime feelings on the piano. Participants once again enjoyed familiar melodies performed by the People's Artist himself.

The performance of the composition “Motherland” by People’s Artist Alikhan Samadov on the balaban, as well as national drum performances by Honoured Artist Kamran Karimov, were warmly applauded by the audience.

The event also featured the premiere of the song “Love,” composed to lyrics written by Leyla Begim Jafarova, Head of the Prague Azerbaijan House. The heartfelt performance by Shola Safaraliyeva, soloist of the “Gaya” Ensemble, was considered one of the most memorable moments of the evening. Afterwards, poems dedicated to Karabakh, recited to the piano accompaniment of Faig Sujaddinov, further strengthened the participants’ feelings of attachment to their homeland, national identity, and commitment to spiritual values.

The evening was regarded as a significant event in promoting Azerbaijani culture and art.
