The Finnish delegation visits Azerbaijan
23 August, 2024A delegation of Finnish social and political figures visits Azerbaijan under the organization of the Finland-Azerbaijan Friendship Society.
The delegation includes Mikko Polvinen, the member of Finnish Parlament, Markku Kansgapuro, Director of the Center for Finnish, Russian and Eastern European Studies at the Alexander Institute, Antero Eerola, journalist and Deputy Editor of "Hymy" magazine, former Chairman of the Parliamentary Group (2021), former member of the Vantaa-Kerava City Council (2022), and former member of the Vantaa-Kerava Regional Government, Jan Erik Enestam, former minister of Defense of Finland, Chairman of the board of “J-E Enestam AB" consulting company, Jaako Laakso, Former Deputy Head of the Finnish Delegation to the Parliamentary Assembly of the Western European Union and Chairman of the Finland-Azerbaijan Friendship Society Tarana Nazarova.
During the visit, the delegation has become in the State Committee on Work with Diaspora. Furtermore, they met with Rovshan Rzayev, Chairman of the State Committee for Refugees and IDPs, Farid Jafarov, Deputy Minister of Culture, Bahruz Mammadov, the first deputy chairman of the Board of Azerbaijan National Agency for Mine Action (ANAMA). Issues of mutual interest were discussed at the meeting.
The Finish representatives are currently visiting Lachin and Shusha. The guests are expected to visit the historical monuments, landmarks of the city, get acquainted with the reconstruction works carried out in our lands after the liberation of Armenian vandalism and occupation.
