The 31 December - Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis and the New Year were celebrated in Azerbaijani House operating in Salzburg, Austria. The event was supported by the State Committee on Work with Diaspora.

Farid Azizov, the head of the Society of Austrian Azerbaijanis and Salzburg Azerbaijani House, spoke about the passenger aircraft crash of "Azerbaijan Airlines" aircraft en route on the Baku-Grozny flight. The memory of the victims was commemorated with a minute’s silence.

Subsequently, Farid Azizov congratulated our compatriots on the occasion of the Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis and the New Year. He emphasized that the Azerbaijanis of the world, regardless of where they live, are always with their motherland.

The event was attended by our compatriots and Austria citizens.  Austrian guests shared their pleasant impressions about Azerbaijan. Children recited poems, and sing songs about Azerbaijan. At the end, Santa Claus gave gifts to children.
