The event, dedicated to the 31 December - Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis and the New Year at Columbia University, located in New York, USA.

The event, organized by the Azerbaijan-American Youth Federation (AAYF), was attended by Azerbaijani and foreign students of Columbia University, as well students of Iowa, Georgia and other states of USA

The memory of the victims, who died as a result of the accident of the passenger aircraft of Azerbaijan Airlines flying Baku-Grozny was commemorated with a minute’s silence.

Leyla Aslanova, the Chairwoman of the AAYF, greeted the guests and highlighted that our unity and solidarity further strengthen our nation.

Farid Akhundov, a member of AAYF, expressed condolences to the families of those who lost their lives in the accident and wished a speedy recovery to the injured.

During the event, participants had the opportunity to share their experiences and get to know each other. In the interactive segment, a quiz on Azerbaijani history and culture was held. The top three winners were awarded prizes. The event concluded with an exchange of ideas and discussions.
