The Azerbaijani Society of British Columbia in Canada has launched a petition protesting the discriminatory treatment of Azerbaijani-language literature in Canadian public libraries.

The petition highlights the prolonged absence of books in the Azerbaijani language—both for children and adults—in public libraries across the region. It also notes that, despite repeated offers to donate Azerbaijani literature, libraries have unjustifiably rejected these contributions.

The Society emphasized that access to literature in their native language is of special importance for the Azerbaijani community in Canada, and called for immediate action to resolve the issue.
