People's Assembly of Kyrgyzstan, a public body regulating relations between national and ethnic minorities living in the Kyrgyz Republic, hosted a meeting with representatives of the Azerbaijani diaspora based in that country and the leadership of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora.

During the meeting, which took place within the framework of the working visit to the Kyrgyz Republic, the Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora Vagif Seyidbayov informed the participants of the event about the activities of the committee, implemented projects, and spoke about the importance of solving the problems of our compatriots living in Kyrgyzstan for our country. The deputy chairman stressed the importance of increasing interest in the Azerbaijani language, literature, history, integration of our compatriots into the local society.

Welcoming the participants of the meeting, the chairman of the “Birlik” Public Union Khansivar Bakhshaliyev informed about the current state of the diaspora, the revival  of the recent months and and the future plans of the organization.

Then, honorary president of “Azeri” Public Union, honored doctor of Kyrgyz Republic Akif Alaferdov expressed his gratitude for the attention of the Azerbaijani state to our compatriots living abroad.

During the meeting a wide range of ideas were exchanged and questions were answered.

At the end of the event, the former head of the National Commission for State Language and Language Policy under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic

Kanibek Osmanaliyev was awarded the Jubilee Medal “100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev (1923-2023)”, and our compatriot, Diaspora activist, doctor Nabi Tagiyev - the medal “For service in the Diaspora activity”.
