The year 2025, marked by the celebration of the 5th anniversary of the Karabakh Victory, has been engraved in the memory of Azerbaijanis worldwide as a year of pride, unity, and national spirit. By organizing nearly 100 events in 81 countries dedicated to our Victory, our compatriots demonstrated that Azerbaijan remains an unparalleled source of pride for them and that the year we have concluded has become an unforgettable chapter in our national history.

The videoconference titled “Let Us Be One, Let Us Be United!”, traditionally organized by the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan on the occasion of 31 December – the Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis, was imbued with the spirit of the Year of Victory. The meeting became a vivid manifestation of our compatriots’ boundless love for the Motherland.

Nearly 1000 Azerbaijanis from 86 countries attended the meeting.

Videoconference commenced with playing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, and with honoring the sacred memory of the martyrs.

Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, welcomed the guests, spoke about the successful results of diaspora policy led by President Ilham Aliyev. He noted that our diaspora once again demonstrated its unity, determination, and the national strength to the world in 2025.

A video report reflecting the activities of Committee and the Azerbaijani diaspora in 2025 was presented, and projects distinguishing our communities abroad and adding value to their activities were discussed. It was noted that currently there are 31 Azerbaijan Houses, 15 Coordination Councils, hundreds of diaspora organizations, more than 90 weekend Azerbaijani schools in 24 countries, as well as the Karabakh weekend schools established on the initiative of the First Vice-President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Mehriban Aliyeva, all have been operating successfully worldwide.

Our compatriots congratulated President Ilham Aliyev on his birthday, expressed their gratitude to the head of state for his constant care and attention to Azerbaijanis worldwide, and affirmed that they always stand by Azerbaijan and its political leadership.

Speakers emphasized that Azerbaijanis worldwide act in unity and solidarity in a coordinated manner, noting that the 5th anniversary of the Victory represents the pinnacle of pride, joy, and national unity for every compatriot. They voiced calls for solidarity and peace. Azerbaijanis around the world expressed their hope that 2026 will be a year of new ideas, new goals, and new beginnings.

Subsequently, a group of diaspora members was awarded the medal of the Republic of Azerbaijan “For Service in Diaspora Activities” for their significant contributions to the promotion of the Azerbaijani language and culture abroad, for their active work in the Azerbaijani diaspora, and for their effective efforts in developing the country’s bilateral and multilateral relations internationally.

During the meeting, various musical performances featuring diaspora members who promote Azerbaijani culture worldwide were presented, and the Diaspora Anthem, which called on our compatriots to unity and solidarity, was performed.
