The winners of the boxing Georgian Championship gave an interview about their success
1 April, 2025The winners of the boxing Georgian Championship held in Batumi among teenagers and youth, our compatriots who are members of the national team, and their trainers have shared their thoughts on the victory they achieved.
Elvin Pashanov, who competed in the 48 kg weight category, stated that the training continues in the Gardabani district, and noted that he is preparing for the European Championship as part of the national team.
Another boxer in the 48 kg weight category, Emil Ismayilov thanked his trainers for success he got.
Seymur Nasibov, who competed in the 54 kg weight category, stated that he is preparing for the international tournament to be held in Baku and expressed confidence that he will achieve a high result there as well.
The 4-time Georgian champion in the 67 kg category, a participant of the European and World championship Elnur Abdullayev told that he is preparing for the European championship participating in training sessions held in Borjomi, Kutaisi, Batumi and Tbilisi.
Vuqar Mammadov, the trainer of the sports school in Gardabani, emphasized that his students, who consistently show high results in the Georgian championship, are intensively preparing for the European Championship. He pointed out that the number of boxers at school increases every year, and currently, there are 30 of them.
Eduard Mardanov, the head coach of the sports school in Rustavi, and an international referee, considered 2025 to be a successful year for boxers. He mentioned that over 200 teenagers and young people are training at the sports school. Two athletes from the school became the champions of the Georgian Championship in the men's 60 and 92 kg weight categories.
For your information, the meeting was held with the support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, and within the framework of the "Promotion of Azerbaijani Truths and Cultural Heritage in Georgia" project by the "Alyans" Youth Center, at the "Azerbaijan House" in Marneuli.
