The State Committee on Work with Diaspora was represented at the 30th anniversary event of the People's Assembly of Kyrgyzstan

Bishkek hosted an event dedicated to the 30th anniversary of the People’s Assembly of Kyrgyzstan.

More than 100 representatives of national and ethnic minorities, as well as high-level guests from Azerbaijan, Kazakhstan, Russia and Uzbekistan attended the event organized at the Ala-Archa State Residence of the President of the Kyrgyz Republic.

State secretary of the Kyrgyz Republic Suyunbek Kasmambetov read out the Address of President Sadir Japarov. Congratulating them on the anniversary, he noted the development of the state language and multilingualism as one of the priorities for the country's authorities and added the planning of the determination of the legal status of the Assembly as a state-public organization in the future. He stressed that the Assembly was organized on January 22, 1994 at the first congress of the Kyrgyz People and since then has contributed to the strengthening of the unity of the people, the development of interethnic relations, the formation of civil equality.

Then, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora Vagif Seyidbayov conveyed congratulations of the Committee Chairman Fuad Muradov to the participants of the meeting. The deputy chairman has said that the Azerbaijani and Kyrgyz peoples are closely connected in terms of history, language, religion and cultural values, and that the Kyrgyz people's Assembly acts as a guarantor of the protection of political, socio-economic, constitutional, cultural and other rights and freedoms for the peoples living in the territory of the country, including Azerbaijanis. He emphasized with pleasure the establishment and strengthening of relations between our countries at the initiative of National Leader Heydar Aliyev during the period of independence, and the President Ilham Aliyev's raising these relations to the level of strategic partnership.

Within the framework of the event, The X Congress of the People's Assembly of Kyrgyzstan took place and the current chairman of the organization Almambet Matubraimov was again elected chairman of the Assembly for the next five years. Chairman of the “Birlik” Public Union, an Azerbaijani Diaspora Organization operating in Kyrgyzstan, Khansivar Bakhshaliyev was elected a member of the Assembly Council. At the Congress, the Charter of the People's Assembly of Kyrgyzstan was approved and various gifts were given to active Diaspora representatives.

Almambet Matubraimov, Chairman of the People's Assembly of Kyrgyzstan, was awarded the medal “For service in the Diaspora activity”.

In addition, within the framework of the event, a meeting was held with Melis Murataliyev, the newly appointed chairman of the National Commission for State Language and Language Policy under the President of the Kyrgyz Republic. During the meeting a wide range of ideas on partnership and friendship relations between our countries and peoples, mutual support actions on international platforms, as well as the possibility of translating the works of the great writer Nizami Ganjavi into Kyrgyz were exchanged. M.Murataliyev recalled his visit to Azerbaijan with great pleasure and expressed his readiness to continue joint projects within the framework of the signed memorandum.
