The Regional Olympiad in the Azerbaijani Language will be held in Georgia for the first time

The first Regional Olympiad in the Azerbaijani Language will be held among the students of Azerbaijani-language schools in Georgia for the first time.

Head of the “Maarif” organization, young activist Aygul Isayeva stated that selection rounds were held in 116 Azerbaijani-language schools across the country, and 105 students qualified for the final round.

The final round will take place at the Azerbaijani House in Marneuli with the support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan and organized by the Integration Center of Azerbaijanis in Georgia.

The main purpose of the Olympiad is to increase interest in the Azerbaijani language among schoolchildren, to preserve and develop the Azerbaijani language, and to pass it on to future generations. At the same time, students will be given the opportunity to demonstrate not only their language knowledge, but also their written and oral communication skills.

It should be noted that such events serve to preserve the national identity of Azerbaijanis living in Georgia, promote education in the mother tongue, and strengthen social integration.
