The chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora Fuad Muradov met with academician of the Russian Academy of Sciences and the Russian Academy of Medical Sciences, professor, doctor of medical sciences, and laureate of the State Prize of the Russian Federation, Mammad Baghir Aliyev.

Greeting the guest sincerely, the committee chairman exchanged views with academician Mammad Baghir Aliyev. He highly appreciated the role of the Azerbaijani diaspora in the development of bilateral relations between Azerbaijan and Russia and in expanding cultural ties between the two countries. He noted that Azerbaijan community and compatriots abroad are currently under the attention of President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-president Mehriban Aliyeva.

Expressing his deep gratitude to the state of Azerbaijan for the high appreciation of his activities, Mammad Baghir Aliyev said that he will continue to spare no effort in defending the national interests of our homeland abroad and in enhancing the integration and activity of our young people studying and living both within the country and beyond its borders into the international scientific world.

Mammad Baghir Aliyev was awarded the "Heydar Aliyev's 100th Anniversary (1923-2023)" jubilee medal by the decree of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic Ilham Aliyev, for his services in diaspora activities.

 It should be noted that Mammad Baghir Aliyev, who was the president of in All-Russian Azerbaijan Congress in 2001-2016 is the author of more than 400 scientific publications and 9 inventions.
