The Azerbaijani UFC fighter will meet his Russian opponent in New York

Azerbaijani UFC fighter Nazim Sadikhov will take part in UFC-295 Championship, to be held on November 11, 2023 at the famous Madison Square Garden (MSG) sports complex in New York. His opponent will be Russian fighter Vyacheslav Borshchev.

On the eve of the fight, Nazim Sadikhov gave an interview to John Hyon Ko, the host of “The All Star” program. During the interview, he spoke about his motherland- Azerbaijan, a country with a rich culture, about his training experience, about the talented athletes of our country, and about his participation in the UFC-295 Championship.

Nazim hopes to celebrate his victory over Borshchev with “Gaitagi” dance.

Sadikhov has 9 wins and 1 loss in professional MMA. Vyacheslav Borshchev has 7 wins and 3 losses in the UFC.

The athlete's father, Azim Sadikhov, has told that participating in the legendary MSG was his son's long-held dream, and he wants all our compatriots living in the United States to support him on November 11: “This is a huge opportunity. Nazim represents Azerbaijan. Hopefully, we will gain a big victory”.

When Nazim Sadikhov was 6 years old, his family moved from Baku to New York, the largest metropolis of the United States. He has received karate and MMA classes since his childhood. On August 16, 2022, he met Ahmed Hassanzadeh, a lightweight MMA fighter of Afghan origin in the “Contender Series 2022” competition, and thanks to his impressive victory he could sign a contract with the UFC.

He dedicates all his victories to his historical homeland Azerbaijan and waves tricolor Azerbaijani flag at the end of every race.
