The 9th annual "Florida Keys" International Music Competition, traditionally held in the United States, has been dedicated this year to the 140th anniversary of the great Azerbaijani composer Uzeyir Hajibeyli.
The competition is open to both professional and amateur musicians of all age groups. Applicants must first register on the official competition website and submit video recordings of their performances online to the organizers. Winners in various categories will be selected by a distinguished panel of judges comprising renowned performers and educators. Selected participants will be invited to perform at the Gala Concert to be held in November of this year at Carnegie Hall in New York City. In addition, some winners will be given the opportunity to perform for a wide European audience.
The Gala Concert is organized by the Florida Azerbaijan-American Cultural Association with the support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan.
It is worth noting that the competition, which was established in honor of prominent Azerbaijani composer Jovdat Hajiyev, is held annually. The founders of the event include Parvin Muradov, director of the Education and Culture Committee of the Azerbaijan-American Cultural Association in Florida (daughter of renowned Azerbaijani artists Jovdat Hajiyev and Amina Dilbazi), as well as Kay Lang, Vivian Fang Liu, and the Association’s President, Tohfa Eminova.
The competition aims to discover and support young talents while promoting the rich musical heritage of Azerbaijan.
