The event dedicated to the 102nd anniversary of the birth of the National Leader at the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, began with the playing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan and a minute of silence in memory of the Great Leader Heydar Aliyev, as well as our martyrs.

In his speech, Chairman Fuad Muradov recalled the tireless work of the Great Leader in protecting and strengthening the independence of the independent Republic of Azerbaijan. He spoke about the comprehensively thought-out, purposeful policy for the formation of the Azerbaijani diaspora and the creation of a unified diaspora network. He noted that consistent and continuous work has been carried out to preserve our national and cultural heritage, organized Azerbaijanis living abroad, and convey the realities of Azerbaijan to the world community, and that Azerbaijani houses have been opened in various countries.

An excerpt from the documentary film “The Great Patron of Art” dedicated to the 100th anniversary of the Great Leader and a video clip “Heydar Aliyev and the Foundation of the Diaspora” were shown at the event.

Namig Huseynov, a student of People’s Artist Omar Eldarov, sculptor, and film director, delivered a speech on the topic “Heydar Aliyev: Patron of National and Spiritual Values.” He noted that the Great Leader was not only a political leader, but also a personality who strived to protect and develop the culture, traditions, and values of the people. The sculptor presented a bust of the great leader Heydar Aliyev to the committee.

Later, young employees of the Committee, the chairwoman of the «Support to the Development of Azerbaijan-Bulgaria Friendship» Public Union Mariya Atanasova-Huseynova, and other speakers noted the great historical services of the National Leader Heydar Aliyev to the Azerbaijani people and said that he will forever live in memory as an irreplaceable leader.
