Berlin hosted a meeting of the Azerbaijani community held within the framework of the 100th anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev, founder of modern Azerbaijan.
Employees of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Germany, active members of Azerbaijani community and representatives of South Azerbaijani community attended the meeting.
The national anthem of Azerbaijan was sounded, then a minute of silence was observed to honor the dear memory of Heydar Aliyev and Azerbaijani martyrs.
The documentary film "Winners Live Forever" dedicated to the national leader Heydar Aliyev was presented to the audience.
Welcoming the participants of the meeting, the Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, Fuad Muradov, spoke about unparalleled services of Heydar Aliyev, founder of modern Azerbaijan. Committee Chairman has drawn attention to the fact that various events are being held across the world within the Year of Heydar Aliyev.
The Committee Chairman recalled President Ilham Aliyev’s recommendations, regarding Azerbaijan Houses, weekend schools, inter-diaspora relations and other issues, and positively evaluated the activities of German Azerbaijani Alliance.
Ambassador Nasimi Agayev, drew attention to the multifaceted activities of the national leader, his valuable place in the history of Azerbaijan, his services in the field of diaspora-building.
Nuran Abdullayev, Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Alliance of German Azerbaijanis presented the report of the Alliance. Deputy Chairman of the Board Sevda Badaliouri, filed a report about Azerbaijani weekend school operating on the basis of "Khari Bulbul" Azerbaijan Cultural Center, the co-founder of "Odlar Yurdu" orchestra, violinist Farida Rustamova made a presentation regarding the activity of the ensemble.
The community members told that they would do their best to represent our country abroad.
Then, Yashar Niftaliyev Millinits, head of the World Boxing Committee named after Heydar Aliyev, was presented the medal of the Republic of Azerbaijan "For service in Diaspora activity”
The community meeting ended with a broad exchange of ideas.
