Commemoration event held at the Azerbaijani House in Marneuli

On the initiative and organization of the Azerbaijani House, with the Fund for Support to Azerbaijani Diaspora (ADSF), a commemoration event titled “The Road to Victory” was held at the Azerbaijani House on September 27 – Remembrance Day, along with the performance of a short play of the same name.

The event was attended by Faig Guliyev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Georgia, and embassy staff, Zaur Dargally, Member of the Parliament of Georgia, haji Etibar Eminov, Mufti of the Muslims of Georgia, Mahammad Shamilov, Authorized Representative of the Caucasus Muslims in Georgia, Tariyel Mammadov, Deputy Chairman of the Marneuli Municipal Council, as well as heads of various departments of the Marneuli Municipality and Municipal Council, representatives of civil society, youth, clergy, family members of martyrs from Georgia who participated in the 44-day Patriotic War, and intellectuals.

The event began with a one-minute moment of silence in honor of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity and sovereignty of Azerbaijan and Georgia.

Mahabbat İmanov, Director of the Azerbaijani House, provided information about the Azerbaijan–Armenia conflict, which has continued since the 1990s, and highlighted that our historical lands were liberated from occupation in a short period of time.

Faiq Guliyev, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Georgia, noted that Azerbaijanis living in Georgia provided moral support to Azerbaijan during and after the war, and demonstrated solidarity with Azerbaijan through events held in Marneuli and other regions of Georgia.

Zaur Dargally, Member of the Parliament of Georgia, described the liberation of lands that had been under occupation for many years under the decisive and visionary leadership of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan, Ilham Aliyev, as a great historical achievement. He also noted that the event held at the Azerbaijani House served as a celebration of this victory.

Nazan Maharramova, grandmother of martyr Orkhan Maharramov, and Giyafat Ganbarova, aunt of martyr Bilal Ganbarov, who attended the event, also spoke, emphasizing that the cherished memory of the martyrs is never forgotten and is always honored with respect.

Etibar Eminov, Mufti of the Muslims of Georgia, and Mahammad Shamilov, Authorized Representative of the Caucasus Muslims in Georgia, highlighted that the care and attention shown to the families of martyrs is an integral part of our religion and national-moral values.

During the continuation of the event, public and political figures — Azer Suleymanov, Ruslan Hajiyev, Huseyn Yusibov, Chair of the Congress of Azerbaijanis in Georgia, and other speakers — took the floor and emphasized that the 44-day Patriotic War is inscribed in golden letters in the history of the Azerbaijani people.

In the second part of the event, a short play titled “The Road to Victory”, authored by Esmira Alakbarli, head of the Union of Azerbaijani-Language Schools in Georgia, was performed. The play was dedicated to the heroism of Azerbaijani soldiers during the Patriotic War, the unity of the people, and the sacrifices of the martyrs. The performance, presented by students, moved the audience and was greeted with applause.

The students who took part in the play were awarded certificates of appreciation by the Azerbaijani House.
