The meeting with the Azerbaijani community was held in Thessaloniki, Greece on the occasion of 31 December – the Day of Solidarity of World Azerbaijanis and New Year. The meeting took place with the support of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Greece and organized by the “QALA” Greece-Azerbaijan Friendship Society.

In his speech, Rashid Mammadov, the chairman of the “QALA” Greece-Azerbaijan Friendship Society, emphasized that Azerbaijanis living in various countries around the world celebrate the Solidarity Day of World Azerbaijanis with great enthusiasm and excitement each year. He highlighted that the idea of unity and solidarity among world Azerbaijanis is rooted in respect for Azerbaijan’s statehood, the language, religion, national and spiritual identity of the Azerbaijani people, as well as universal values, and in the commitment to their preservation and continuity.
