The book “Armenian Massacre in Ighdir Through the Eyes of Witnesses” published in Türkiye

The book titled “Armenian Massacre in Ighdir Through the Eyes of Witnesses” by Ziya Zakir Ajar, the head of the Association for Preserving and Supporting the Unity of Language, History and Culture of Ighdir-Azerbaijan and the Ighdir Azerbaijan House, has been published in Türkiye. The book was published with the financial support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan. The foreword was written by the First Deputy Chairman of the Committee, Valeh Hajiyev.

The book, intended for a wide audience in both Turkish and English, explores the horrific massacres committed by Armenians in Ighdir and its surrounding regions, as documented through the testimonies of eyewitnesses. It also provides comprehensive information about the fate of Azerbaijanis who were forcibly expelled from Western Azerbaijan and later settled, in particular, in the Ighdir region.

It has been noted that mass graves discovered in towns and villages of the Ighdir province including Oba, Tuzluca, Hakmehmet, Kulluk, Dize, Arapkiri, and Gedikli with the participation of Turkish media, confirm the facts of genocide based on eyewitness testimonies. It was also emphasized that excavations have revealed dozens of additional mass graves in other nearby settlements.

The publication substantiated with facts that present-day Armenia is an ancient Turkic homeland and that toponyms of Western Azerbaijan have been falsified by Armenians.
