On March 16, Stockholm, the capital of Sweden hosted an event held on the occasion of Nowruz holiday.

About 300 guests from different cities of Sweden attended the event, that was organized with the support of the Fund for Support to Azerbaijani Diaspora, the Swedish International Media Group and the Azerbaijan Media Center.

The National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan was sung.

Then, Rahim Sadigbayli, chairman of the International Media Group, delivered opening speech. He has expressed his satisfaction regarding the presence of our compatriots living in different parts of Sweden at the Novruz  event. Later, chairwoman of SAF (Sweden-Azerbaijani Association) Sevda Dadashova congratulated the guests and gave presents to the students of “Karabagh” weekend school.

Students of the “Karabakh” weekend school performed the “Almalı” dance at the event. Famous Azerbaijani musicians Abbas Ahmed, Chinara Malikzade and composer Umid Babayev took part at the holiday program.
