Spain hosted the meeting with the Azerbaijani community

Fuad Muradov, the chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora met with the Azerbaijani community in the Kingdom of Spain.
The meeting, moderated by Gulnar Hajiyeva, a member of the Azerbaijani Society in Barcelona, started with the playing of Azerbaijan's National Anthem and commemorating the martyrs, who lost their lives for the territorial integrity of our country.
“Today, the Azerbaijani state has developed a new conceptual approach to diaspora improvement, creating an exemplary model. Our state’s approach to the diaspora is aimed at its further strengthening," highlighted Fuad Muradov, the chairperson of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora during the meeting.
In his speech, the committee chairman noted that the diaspora policy initiated by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev and further developed by President of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has entered a new stage, with the diaspora now acting in close unity with Azerbaijan.
The meeting was also attended by Afgan Khalili, Consul of the Embassy of Azerbaijan in Spain.
At the meeting, a video presentation was made showcasing the activities of the committee, Azerbaijan Houses abroad, Coordination councils, weekend Azerbaijani schools, implemented large-scale projects.
Karim Karimov, the Coordinator of the Coordination Council of Azerbaijanis in Spain for Barcelona, chairperson of the Azerbaijani Society in Barcelona and Azerbaijani House in Barcelona, informed in detail about the activities of the Coordination Council of Azerbaijanis, and emphasized the importance of strengthening the activities of Azerbaijani communities, societies, and associations.
Afterwards, an exchange of views took place on diaspora development, support for strategic initiatives, strengthening the process of community building, and other topics, and responses were provided to questions.
The meeting of the community continued with the session of the Coordination Council of Azerbaijanis in Spain.
Besides, a report on the activities of the Coordination Council was presented, and the achievements and projects implemented were widely discussed.
The meeting was also attended by compatriots living in the various cities and regions of Spain, such as Barcelona, Bilbao, Madrid, Valencia, Alicante, and other cities, as well as in Portugal. Over 120 compatriots participated in the meeting, including participants of the Summer Camps for Diaspora Youth.
Mahammadali Akbarov, descendant of Panah Ali Khan, the khan of Karabakh, and participant of the III Summer Camp for Diaspora Youth in Shusha, was elected Coordinator of the Coordination Council of Azerbaijanis in Spain, and Milana Seyidzade, participant of the IV Summer Camp for Diaspora Youth in Nakhchivan, was appointed Coordinator for Portugal.
