Singapore hosted the meeting with Azerbaijani community

Singapore hosted the meeting with Azerbaijani community living there.

The event began with the National Anthems of Azerbaijan and Singapore and continued with a minute’s silence, as a mark of respect to the dear memory of our martyrs, who died for the territorial integrity of our country.

Fuad Muradov, the Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, spoke about the diaspora policy of the state of Azerbaijan, emphasized that the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev has successfully continued this policy, which was founded by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev. At the meeting, it was given detailed information about the activity of the Committee, Azerbaijan Houses abroad, Coordination councils, weekend Azerbaijani schools, Summer Camps of Diaspora Youth and successful large-scale projects of the Committee.

Subsequently, the videos, depicting the activity of the Azerbaijani diaspora, as well as the victory of Azerbaijan in Karabakh were displayed.

The Azerbaijani businessmen, students and our compatriots, working in various fields expressed their gratitude to the government of Azerbaijan for bringing together Azerbaijani community in Singapore for the first time. Laman Bagheri, who was born in Ganja, moved from Azerbaijan at the age of 20, and has been living in Singapore for 31 years, stated that she went to Baku last year, she was fascinated with the improvement of our country, and that he intends to return to Azerbaijan after regaining his citizenship.  Farah Movsumova, Mammad Aliyev’s daughter, Azerbaijani oncologist, professor living in Russia, emphasized that she highly appreciates the numerous projects implemented by the committee that Azerbaijanis abroad don’t forget their mother tongue and national identity.

The meeting continued with a mutual exchange of views with the participation of the consuls of the Azerbaijani embassies in Indonesia and Singapore, and answers to questions of our compatriots. Afterwards, the coordinators of the Coordination Council of Azerbaijanis living in the Southeast Asian region were selected for Singapore.

The meeting ended with the performances of the "Karabagh" mugham group. People's Artist Mansum Ibrahimov, singer Chinara Malikzade were accompanied by People's Artist Elchin Hashimov (tar), Honored Artist Elnur Ahmadov (kamancha), and Honored Artist Kamran Karimov (naghara).
