History preserved through art: “Dream of Paradise” screened in Stuttgart

The documentary-feature film “Dream of Paradise”, dedicated to the life and artistic legacy of Mirza Gadim Iravani, a prominent representative of Azerbaijani fine arts and the founder of the national school of easel painting, has been presented in Stuttgart, Germany.

The screening took place at the Arthaus Filmtheater Stuttgart.

Among the speakers was Gunay Mirzayeva, Head of the Stuttgart Azerbaijan House and a member of the Board of the Alliance of Azerbaijanis in Germany. She emphasized the importance of cultural initiatives in promoting Azerbaijan’s rich history, culture, and national values in Germany.

Isa Mammadov, Head of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center in Berlin, noted that “Dream of Paradise” introduces audiences not only to the outstanding artistic legacy of Mirza Gadim Iravani but also to the rich history, cultural heritage, and spiritual values of Western Azerbaijan.

Amir Ali Sardari Iravani, a descendant of the Khan of Iravan residing in Germany,  shared personal reflections rooted in his family history and described the film as an important contribution to preserving historical memory, encouraging an objective understanding of the past, and passing Azerbaijan’s national heritage on to future generations.

The event also featured an exhibition of books, publications, and examples of decorative and applied arts reflecting Azerbaijan’s rich history, cultural heritage, and national values. The exhibition attracted considerable interest and provided visitors with deeper insight into the country’s centuries-old artistic traditions.

The presentation concluded with expressions of gratitude to all those who contributed to the production of the film and the successful organization of the event.
