President and Prime Minister of Georgia attended at the celebration of Novruz holiday

Marneuli municipality organized an event on the occasion of Novruz holiday. The event was attended by the President of Georgia Mikheil Kavelashvili, the Prime Minister Irakli Kobakhidze, Speaker of the Georgian Parliament Shalva Papuashvili and other officials. Integration Center for Azerbaijanis in Georgia also participated at the festive event.  Plaques featuring the coat of arms of Marneuli, made by the members of the 'Robotics' club of the Center using a 3D printer, were presented as gifts to the President and the Prime Minister of Georgia. Then, officials visited the exhibition of handicrafts by the members of GAIM in the Azerbaijani corner.

In Marneuli, other festive event took place in the Integration Center for Azerbaijanis in Georgia. The students of the Georgian and English language group performed in both languages as well as the students of the gymnastics club danced. The participation of the Kechel, Kosa, and Bahar gizi (Spring girl) added liveliness and vibrancy to the celebration. They had an egg fight and entertained the children. Following that, poems and songs were performed. At the end, the Executive Director of GAIM, Murad Muradov, congratulated the participants on the holiday and wished them prosperity and happiness.

Novruz holiday was celebrated in the village of Gabal, Lagodekhi district. Various sport contests and festive event were held with the organization of the Gabal Development Center. The event started with horse racing in the morning and has come to end with concert. Athletes from various regions of Georgia tested their skills in wrestling, marathon walking, kickboxing, football, and volleyball competitions. The winners were awarded trophies, diplomas, and cash prizes. The head of the center, Yavar Mammadov, expressed his gratitude to the Lagodekhi municipality for their efforts in organizing the event and for their support. The event continued with the execution of Novruz traditions, the recitation of patriotic poems, and the performance of songs and dances."
