Our compatriot living Canada was awarded a medal

Fuad Muradov, the Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora met with Lalin Hasanova, the executive director of Azerbaijan House in Canada, the head of "Vatan" Azerbaijani Art and Culture Center, operating in Toronto, Ontario, Canada.

The Committee Chairman highly appreciated the active integration of our compatriots into the local community, activity in the field of the promotion of the truths about Azerbaijan, and the recognition of our culture and rich cultural heritage. He noted that Azerbaijani community and compatriots abroad are currently under the special attention of President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-president Mehriban Aliyeva. The unique role of the diaspora in the development of mutual ties between the two countries was emphasized, and recommendations regarding the future activities of the diaspora in this country was communicated.

Lalin Hasanova expressed her deep appreciation to the Government of the Republic of Azerbaijan for the constant attention to her activities. She mentioned that Azerbaijani House plays a significant role in bringing together our compatriots living in Canada and working together for national interests. She emphasized that in addition to the Azerbaijani language, Azerbaijani history, drama, painting, dance, music and choir, drums, astronomy, and chess lessons are taught in the “My Azerbaijan” weekend school under the authority of Azerbaijani House. She also mentioned that a summer camp for the children was organized at “My Azerbaijan” weekend school for the first time.  It was mentioned that following on the recommendations of the President of Azerbaijan, strong relations have been established with the Azerbaijani communities abroad, including compatriots living in Canada.

Lalin Hasanova was awarded a jubilee medal "100th anniversary of Heydar Aliyev (1923-2023)" by Decree of the President of the Republic of Azerbaijan Ilham Aliyev, on her services in diaspora activities.

It should be noted that various events are held at the Azerbaijani House, which was officially opened on April 3, 2023, in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. Dozens of Canadian officials, including Ali Cyrus Ehsassi, a member of the House of Representatives of the Canadian Parliament, Lily Cheng, a member of the City Council of Willowdale, Stan Cho, a member of the Legislative Assembly of Canada, Sten Cho, a member of the Legislative Assembly of Canada, Sheref Sabawi, an assistant to the Minister of Tourism, Culture and Sports of the Province of Ontario in the Parliament of Canada, Andrea Hazell the member of Liberal Party of Ontario, Francesco Sorbara the member of the Canadian Parliament visited the Azerbaijani house and were given detailed information about the ancient history, rich cultural heritage and implemented projects of our nation.
