Opening ceremony of the Azerbaijan House was held in the village of Kouachra, Lebanon.
The event was attended by Turkmans residing in this country, as well as the members of the local community, the Mufti of Akkar Governorate, director of the Waqf Department, Members of Parliament, mayors, Sheikhs, teacher and students.
First, a monument erected in memory of the martyrs of the Karabakh war, was visited in the village of Kouachra. The event began with the playing of National Anthems of Azerbaijan and Lebanon, and the commemorating of the dear memory of the martyrs.
Khaled Ismayil, Head of the Azerbaijan House in Lebanon informed in depth about the activity of Turkman community, and the reasons for opening the house there: “The opening of the Azerbaijan House is a great opportunity for Turkmans to learn the history, literature and culture of Azerbaijan. We are grateful to the state of Azerbaijan for providing us with this opportunity," he stated.
Vagif Seyidbayov, Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, congratulated the Azerbaijanis on the occasion of this remarkable event. He described the inauguration as an important development in fostering Azerbaijan-Lebanon ties and a meaningful initiative for the Turkman community residing in Lebanon. He emphasized that the project reflects the care and attention of President Ilham Aliyev and the Azerbaijani state toward compatriots living abroad.
Experience shows that Azerbaijani Houses play an invaluable role in conveying the truths about Azerbaijan to the international community and in helping our compatriots learn about our history, culture, and native language.
A cultural event attended by 300 people was also organized on the occasion of the opening ceremony of the Azerbaijani House in the village of Kouachra.
