Official opening ceremony of "Youth for a Green World" 5th Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth has been held in Lachin

The official opening ceremony of "Youth for a Green World" 5th Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth has been held in Lachin, which has a rich historical past and enchanting nature.

The event has commenced with the playing of the National Anthem of the Republic of Azerbaijan, has followed by a minute of silence in memory of the martyrs who sacrificed their lives for the protection, restoration, and liberation of Azerbaijan's territorial integrity and historical lands.

A video was shown about the history of Diaspora Youth Summer Camps and the strong ties of our Diaspora with the Motherland.

Speeches have been delivered by Masim Mammadov, special representative of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic in Lachin district, Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, Farah Aliyeva, head of the Department of Humanitarian Policy, Diaspora, Multiculturalism and Religious Affairs of the Administration of the President of the Azerbaijan Republic, Elvin Aslanov, representative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation, Farid Jafarov, Deputy Minister of Culture in the opening ceremony of the camp.

Masim Mammadov has provided an overview of the development in Lachin, highly appreciated the holding the 5th Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth in Lachin, expressing pride in hosting such a grand event for youth from 60 countries.

Greeting the participants, the committee chairman Fuad Muradov has talked about the importance of holding such a magnificent event in Lachin, one of Azerbaijan's beautiful regions, about the valor of Azerbaijani army under the leadership of victorious Supreme Commander-in-Chief Ilham Aliyev, the extensive and rapidly implemented reconstruction works. He especially emphasized the role of youth in conveying the true nature of the Armenian-Azerbaijani, Nagorno-Karabakh conflict to the international community. Speaking about the importance of the camp, the chairman has given information about the projects implemented by the Committee, stating that the Azerbaijani communities operating abroad, our compatriots, are always under the attention of President Ilham Aliyev and First Vice-President Mehriban Aliyeva. According to this, he has noted that the projects implemented by the State Committee on Work with Diaspora serve to strengthen the connections of our compatriots living abroad with Azerbaijan, enhance their ties, making them not forget their native language, and promote our history and culture. He has highlighted that the state youth policy of Azerbaijan is aimed to ensure the development of our youth, and their successful fulfillment of their civic duties, regardless of where they live.

Farah Aliyeva has commended the participation of well-educated and patriotic youth in the diaspora summer camps.

Elvin Aslanov has emphasized the significant contributions of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation to the development and recognition of young talents, emphasizing the camp's importance.

Farid Jafarov has stated that the Summer Camps for Diaspora Youth have a very positive impact on the development of young people as a platform.

After the official part of the opening ceremony, the event has continued with a cultural program featuring performances by renowned Azerbaijani artists.

A carpet corner organized by the Azerbaijan National Carpet Museum has also been created, showcasing carpet samples from all regions.

It should be noted that the 5th Summer Camp for Diaspora Youth, considered one of the major projects in the history of the diaspora, is organized by the State Committee on Work with Diaspora and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation and will run from August 1 to 7. The camp hosts 115 young people from 60 countries, including both Azerbaijanis living in various countries around the world and representatives of nations friendly to Azerbaijan.
