The Azerbaijan-Oman Friendship Concert held in Muscat

The Azerbaijan-Oman Friendship Concert, held in Muscat, the capital of the Sultanate of Oman, was organized with the support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora and the initiative of Saida Khalilova, the coordinator for Oman of the Coordination Council of Azerbaijanis in Arab Countries. The event was attended by the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Sultanate of Oman, Rashad Ismayilov, employees of the Embassy, members of the Azerbaijani community living in Oman, as well as representatives of other nationalities. In total, 300 guests participated in the event.

Ambassador Rashad Ismayilov spoke about the steadily developing relations between Azerbaijan and Oman. He noted that the opening of Azerbaijan’s new embassy in the Sultanate of Oman would further strengthen bilateral relations. The Ambassador emphasized that such events contribute to the deepening of friendly ties between the peoples of the two countries.

On the occasion of both May 28 – Independence Day and the concert, a congratulatory message from the State Committee on Work with Diaspora was conveyed to the participants.

Oman coordinator Saida Khalilova expressed her gratitude to the Azerbaijani state for its support in organizing the concert. She emphasized that the promotion of Azerbaijani culture and art in Oman increases interest in our country.

At the concert, teachers and students of the “Royal Conservatory of Music and Art,” co-founded by Saida Khalilova and composed of representatives of both Azerbaijani and other nationalities, performed works by renowned classical composers. The performance of compositions by prominent Azerbaijani composers such as Uzeyir Hajibeyli, Fikrat Amirov, Arif Melikov, and Tofig Guliyev by international students was met with great appreciation.

Throughout the event, video presentations showcasing Azerbaijan’s rich cultural heritage, tourism potential, art, and historical monuments attracted significant interest from the guests.

At the end of the concert, seven students of the Royal Conservatory of Music and Art were awarded cash prizes, five received certificates, and the remaining participants were presented with gifts.
