Fuad Muradov, chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, met with Davut Gul, the governor of Istanbul, within his visit to Türkiye. 

Welcoming the guest, the governor expressed his satisfaction with the high level of the ties between the two countries and emphasized the role of Presidents Recep Tayyip Erdogan and Ilham Aliyev in becoming strategic alliances.

Expressing his gratitude for the warm welcome, the chairman of the committee pointed out the Turkish-Azerbaijani brotherhood as an example for all countries.

A number of issues related to the implementation of the “Action Plan for persons who has immigrated to the Republic of Turkey (Istanbul) since the 1990s and are likely to be citizens of the Republic of Azerbaijan, including their family members born in Turkey” were debated at the meeting.

It was noted that 7093 applications have been answered so far. 3,623 Azerbaijanis received passport registration and other services. The assistance of Istanbul Governorship to this process was  emphisized.
