Nijat Azimzade, a young Azerbaijani athlete residing in Tajikistan, achieved success at the international taekwondo tournament "Asia Cup 2025" held in Shymkent, Kazakhstan.

Competing among more than 800 athletes from 28 countries, our compatriot represented Tajikistan and achieved outstanding results in both individual and team competitions. He secured 2nd place in the team event. In his individual competition, he claimed the gold medal in the 45 kg weight class for the 14–15 age group by defeating all his opponents.

It should be noted that Nijat Azimzade was born in Baku in 2010, currently resides in Dushanbe, and is a 9th-grade student. The young athlete has already achieved a number of achievements. Notably, he took 2nd place in a tournament held in Tajikistan and won first place in a competition held in Dushanbe. Nijat is a medalist in various local and international competitions.

The Azerbaijani youth's success has been met with great joy and pride among the diaspora community.
