The US cities hosted awareness campaigns against Armenian mine terrorism

An awareness campaign highlighting the tragic consequences of landmines, massively planted by Armenian armed forces in Azerbaijan's Karabakh region during the occupation, was held in Washington, New York, Atlanta cities of the US.

During awareness campaigns organized by the chairman of the Utah-Azerbaijan Friendship Organization Asmar Garayeva, trucks with LED screens displaying various slogans, hashtags and facts moved through the crowded central streets. Cars were stopped in the permitted areas of the city and the drivers’ attention was drawn to Armenia's mine terrorism.

"Armenian terrorism continues with mines", "Armenia, the world requires clarity and security. Share mine maps of Karabakh!", "From Karabakh to the world: say NO to mines!", "During the occupation of Azerbaijani lands by Armenia, about 1.5 million mines were buried", "Remembering Karabakh’s tragedy - working towards mine-free legacy", "Respect to those who lost their lives as a result of mine explosion in Karabakh! Join the struggle for security!", "Remember the victims of Karabakh - stand up for mine-free lands!", "Karabakh deserves peace, not hidden mines!", ", "Deliberate and indiscriminate landmine terror of Armenia against Azerbaijan” and other slogans were displayed on the trucks.

The information displayed on the screens highlighted facts such as the planting of 1.5 million landmines by Armenian armed forces in Azerbaijani lands during the occupation, landmine contamination covering 147,988 hectares of land at a high level, and 675,570 hectares at medium and low levels.

It has also been mentioned that from 1991 to date, 3,393 people, including women and children, have fallen victims to landmines, and the number of landmine victims from November 10, 2020 to September 19, 2023, reached 314 people, including 67 fatalities.
