A meeting with an Azerbaijani musician was held at the State Committee

Fuad Muradov, chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, met with Farhad Khudiyev, musician, music director and conductor of the University of Texas Symphony Orchestra. 

Warmly welcoming the guest, the chairman expressed his pleasure to see him in homeland. He shared his thoughts about Farhad Khudiyev's concert to be held on April 12 at the Azerbaijan State Academic Philharmonic named after Muslim Magomayev with the support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora and at the initiative of the Azerbaijan-American Music Foundation. The chairman wished him every success in his work.

Farhad Khudiyev expressed his gratitude for the support given to the project by the Committee.

The meeting focused on a wide range of issues including promotion of our cultural heritage.

At the end of the meeting, Farhad Khudiyev was presented with books published by the Committee about our culture and music.

It should be noted that Turkemnistani-born Farhad Khudiyev, is originally from Azerbaijan. He studied music in different states of the USA. As well as being a music director at the University of Texas Symphony Orchestra, he also teaches conductorship.

In 2018, he was awarded the Solti Award at the American Young Conductors Competition and was selected as one of the five best conductors of the USA.

It should be noted that on April 12, the Azerbaijan State Academic Philharmonic named after Muslim Magomayev will host the concert “Music bridge. USA-Azerbaijan” by Azerbaijan State Symphony Orchestra named after Uzeyir Hajibeyov under the direction of  Farhad Khudiyev.
