Foreign journalists visited the State Committee

Stefano Vaccara, the U.S. correspondent of Italy’s “Italpress” news agency, Jordan Dakamseh, a Jordanian born journalist, president of Jordan Report Media and Entertainment, Vusala Abbasova, a correspondent of the United States bureau of "Report Information Agency visited the State Committee on Work with Diaspora and met with Deputy Chairman Elshad Aliyev.
The Deputy Chairman spoke about the diaspora policy implemented under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev, and provided information detailed information on the geographical distribution of Azerbaijanis abroad, contemporary migration processes, the long-term projects implemented by the Committee, as well as the idea of establishing a unified Azerbaijani diaspora network. He noted that at present, there are extensive ties with compatriots in 70 countries and the Coordination Councils have been created for the centralized activities of the diaspora, and 30 Azerbaijan Houses have been opened in 20 countries around the world. He also spoke about the dissemination of objective information about Azerbaijan in the international media, the prevention of disinformation, and highly appreciated the professional work of foreign journalists in this field.
The guests expressed their gratitude to the committee leadership for the warm reception and the high-level organization of the visit. They noted that this trip has had a significant impact on increasing their awareness of Azerbaijan and the region as a whole. Journalists, sharing their impressions and observations, stated that the Azerbaijani state is making serious efforts toward the development of the diaspora. They mentioned that they had rarely encountered such a level of commitment in their professional experience and expressed their surprise in a positive sense. The foreign journalists also highlighted the importance of strengthening friendly relations between their respective countries and Azerbaijan, and expressed their intention to continue promoting objective information about our country in the international media.
During the meeting, a wide exchange of views was held on several topics of mutual interest, including the Committee’s and the diaspora’s relations with foreign media, the transformation of the Azerbaijani diaspora into a strong force in the information war during and after the war, and the importance of objective reporting by international media. Journalists' questions were also answered.
It should be noted that the visit of journalists operating in the U.S. to our country was organized by the State Committee on Work with Diaspora. In recent years, more than 1,000 historians, political scientists, journalists and lawyers have visited the territories liberated from occupation. They were informed about the damage caused to those territories as a result of Armenia’s occupation, as well as the reconstruction efforts being carried out in Karabakh. Hundreds of articles related to those visits have been published in the foreign media.
