As a part of the “Azerbaijan–Türkiye Friendship Project”, jointly organized by the Kaymakamate of the Osmangazi District in Istanbul, Turkey, and the Fund for Support to Azerbaijani Diaspora, the children of Turkish martyrs are on a visit to Azerbaijan.

In accordance with the project’s visit program covering April 1–5 of the current year, the guests met with Valeh Hajiyev, First Deputy Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

Valeh Hajiyev warmly greeted the guests. He emphasized that children of Turkish martyrs, coming from brotherly Türkiye carry great moral values for the Azerbaijani people. He noted that the fraternal relations between Azerbaijan and Türkiye are based on a shared history, language, and national–spiritual values, and are further strengthened by the sacred memory of the martyrs. He highlighted that the children of the martyrs are honourably carrying on this sacred legacy and are a great source of pride and honour for both countries.

Javid Ismayil, Head of the Department at the Committee and Akram Abdullayev, Executive Director at the Fund for Support to Azerbaijani Diaspora, emphasized that the attention and care provided to the families of martyrs in Azerbaijan is one of the main priorities of the state policy. They also noted that initiatives like this, carried out as a part of the “Azerbaijan–Türkiye Friendship Project”, make an important contribution to further strengthening friendship and solidarity between the two brotherly countries, while instilling these essential values in the younger generation.

The meeting concluded with the presentation of commemorative gifts to the children of the martyrs.

Afterwards, the guests familiarized with the committee's administrative building. They were informed about the establishment of the Committee, its main duties, and implemented projects.

Within the framework of the project, it is planned for the children of martyrs to become familiarized with the historical and cultural places of our country, including taking part in a number of official and cultural events.
