103rd anniversary of National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s birth celebrated in Berlin

A musical event dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev, the founder of the modern Azerbaijani state and the National Leader of our people, was held in Berlin, the capital of Germany.
The event was co-organized by the Ministry of Culture, the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Federal Republic of Germany and the Alliance of Azerbaijanis in Germany with the support of the Fund for Support to Azerbaijani Diaspora under the State Committee on Work with Diaspora.
Nasimi Agayev, the Ambassador of Azerbaijan to Germany spoke about the prominent statesman Heydar Aliyev’s exceptional services in protecting and strengthening our country’s independence, and forming the statehood traditions. The Ambassador stated that thanks to National Leader Heydar Aliyev’s farsightedness, stability was restored in Azerbaijan, the state institutions were strengthened, and the foundation for the country’s future development was laid. He also noted that, as a result of the wise foreign policy pursued by the Great Leader, Azerbaijan became a reliable partner of the international community.
It was particularly highlighted during the event that the restoration of Azerbaijan’s territorial integrity and sovereignty under the leadership of President Ilham Aliyev fulfilled the greatest aspiration of National Leader Heydar Aliyev.
In his speech, Akram Abdullayev, the Executive Director of the Fund for Support to Azerbaijani Diaspora, spoke about the prominent statesman Heydar Aliyev’s outstanding contribution to strengthening statehood, protecting national interests, and enhancing our country’s international standing. He stressed that the development of relations with Germany held a special place in the Great Leader’s strategic course and noted that cooperation between Azerbaijan and Germany is currently developing successfully in the fields of economy, education, innovation, and cultural-humanitarian relations.
Following the speeches, the event continued with an artistic program. The performance of the musical composition “Elegy,” dedicated to the cherished memory of National Leader Heydar Aliyev, along with other works performed by People’s Artist Faiq Sujaddinov, deeply impressed the audience. The mesmerizing balaban performance by People’s Artist Alikhan Samadov also left an unforgettable impression.
The concert program, consisting of Azerbaijani mugham compositions and folk songs performed by the Simurgh Mugham Ensemble, was met with great interest and applause. Performances by Honoured Artist Shola Safaraliyeva and Miralam Miralamov evoked immense enthusiasm among the audience.
The concert also featured performances by Honoured Artist Kamran Karimov (nagara), Elnur Mikayilov (kamancha), Anar Valizade (balaban), Zaki Valiyev (tar), Idris Huseynov (oud), and Vasif Huseyn (piano), all of whom added a special musical atmosphere to the event.
