Sports festival in Germany honours Great Leader Heydar Aliyev

A sports festival dedicated to the 103rd anniversary of the birth of National Leader Heydar Aliyev was held in Barleben, Germany. The festival was co-organized by the Azerbaijan House in Berlin, the Magdeburg-based World Boxing Committee named after Heydar Aliyev, and the Diaspora Boxing League, with the support of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

The festival’s core mission was to promote the high importance that Great Leader Heydar Aliyev placed on children, youth, and family values. This approach permeated the spirit of the event and was met with great appreciation.

The festival brought a festive atmosphere to hundreds of residents from Magdeburg and the surrounding regions of Germany. Attractions for children, sports games, interactive programs, families spending time together, and the warm atmosphere that prevailed throughout the day were among the memorable moments of the event. Dances performed to the sound of music gave participants pleasant moments.

Yashar Niftaliyev, Head of the Heydar Aliyev World Boxing Committee and the Diaspora Boxing League, stated that the main purpose of the festival was to uphold the attention and care shown by National Leader Heydar Aliyev toward children and youth, while fostering their interest in a healthy lifestyle. He reminded the attendees that this festival dedicated to the memory of Great Leader Heydar Aliyev is held annually. Noting that the festival included competitions in several sports, including boxing, he emphasized that this initiative has a significant impact on the integration of Azerbaijanis living in Germany into local society and bolsters lobbying efforts.

Bernd Heyneman, a member of the Magdeburg City Council, expressed his satisfaction with the boxing tournament held on the occasion of the 103rd anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev, the architect of the modern Azerbaijani state.

Boxing referee Rolf Kunsh said that the festival, which has become a tradition, was marked by confident and exciting bouts.

It should be noted that the Heydar Aliyev World Boxing Committee was established in 2012 and operates internationally. Its goal is to bring together Azerbaijani athletes living around the world, fulfil Great Leader Heydar Aliyev’s recommendations regarding sports, and elevate the belts named after the National Leader among the most prestigious belts in the world.
