The participants of the 6th Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth went on an excursion to Shusha and they were greeted with our national music.
After visiting the Isa Spring, the youth gathered at the Jidir Duzu plain, which holds historical and spiritual significance. They were provided with detailed information about the geographical location of Shusha, the history of the Jidir Duzu plain, and its social and cultural role since ancient times.
Afterwards, the participants visited the Yukhari Govhar Agha Mosque, the “Bullet-riddled statues”, the Ganja Gate of Shusha Fortress, the House-Museum of Khurshidbanu Natavan, “Khan gizi” spring. The youth were informed about the history, architectural features, and the destruction these monuments suffered during the occupation. The information provided about the Shusha Fortress aroused particular interest. Detailed explanations were given about the construction and preservation of the fortress walls, as well as the role it played in the defense of Shusha throughout various historical periods.
Providing diaspora youth and representatives of nations friendly to Azerbaijan with accurate information about Karabakh is a step aimed at shaping them as a form of “soft power”, contributing to the promotion of our country and helping to prevent the spread of misinformation.
It should be noted that the 6th Summer Camp of Diaspora Youth, running from August 3 to 9, is being held in Khankendi. The camp is organized by the State Committee of the Republic of Azerbaijan for Work with the Diaspora and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation.
