The Turkish delegation consisting of members of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye, representatives of the ruling Justice and Development Party, senior officials from the Kayseri Municipality, university rectors, scientists, and entrepreneurs, visited the II Martyrs' Alley, and commemorated the dear memory of our martyrs, who sacrificed their lives for the territorial integrity of our country.

The Turkish delegation met with Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora.

“The Azerbaijan–Turkey friendship and strategic partnership has already become a unique example for the whole world. The brotherly and allied relations between our countries are successfully developing in all areas, and the current high level of ties is based on historical roots and deep political-ideological principles. President Ilham Aliyev has instructed us to further develop cooperation between our countries and our diasporas, and to contribute to the formation of a unified diaspora. Your visit is of particular importance in terms of holding discussions in this direction," – stated the committee chairman during the meeting with the Turkish delegation.

At the meeting, “Shusha Declaration on Allied Relations between the Republic of Azerbaijan and the Republic of Turkey”, the sister city relationship between Shusha and Kayseri, and the successful activities of the Shusha Azerbaijan House in Kayseri were discussed. Members of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye - Hulusi Akar, Shamil Ayrim, Sayin Bayar Ozsoy and others - highly appreciated the significance of the visit.

Hulusi Akar, member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye drew attention to the growing influence of Türkiye and Azerbaijan in the region and globally, as well as the importance of uniting our strengths. He expressed his satisfaction with the visit. Hulusi Akar also emphasized the role of Azerbaijan diaspora in the information warfare.

Shamil Ayrim, member of the Grand National Assembly of Türkiye emphasized the twinning of the cities of Shusha and Kayseri, and stated the Azerbaijanis living and studying in Türkiye play an important role in strengthening the ties between the two countries.

Birol Akgün, the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Türkiye to Azerbaijan also participated at the meeting.

The “For Service in Diaspora Activity” medal was presented to Mustafa Yalchin, mayor of Talas Municipality in Kayseri, and Elshan Ganbarov, head of the Shusha Azerbaijan House.

Turkish delegation will also visit to the liberated territories of Azerbaijan.

It should be noted that the visit was organized by the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, and the Special Representative of President in the Shusha district, at the initiative of the Shusha Azerbaijan House operating in Kayseri.
