Istanbul hosted the founding meeting of the Association of Azerbaijani Scientists living in Türkiye (AAST).

The meeting focused on the activity coverage of the of Azerbaijani scientists living in Türkiye. The participants were informed about the work done in the direction of the development of science in Azerbaijan and potential contributions to be made to the world science.             

As a result of discussions, it was decided to establish AAST. The temporary Board of Directors, Charter and logo of the Association were approved. Amirulla Mammadov, doctor of sciences in Physics and Mathematics, State Prize Laureate of the Azerbaijan, honored scientist, professor of Bilkent University Nanotechnology Research Center, was elected as the chairman of the Board of Directors.

It was noted that a Congress of Azerbaijani scientists operating in Türkiye will be held in the near future, where a new Board of the Association will be approved.
