VIII Twinned Karabakh Schools Summer Camp kicks off with participation of martyrs' children

The VIII Twinned Karabakh Schools Summer Camp has kicked off in the French city of Colmar. The camp is organized with the support of the Azerbaijan Diaspora Support Fund, in cooperation with the "Zafar" Martyrs' Families Support Public Union, the Azerbaijan Cultural Center in Switzerland, and the Karabakh weekend school operating in Nantes, France.

The camp is being held at a dedicated campsite surrounded by the picturesque forests of Colmar, one of the most beautiful regions of France. The program includes educational training sessions, intellectual games, cultural and sports activities, meetings on patriotism, and various other events.

The camp has brought together the children of Azerbaijani martyrs, who are studying at general education schools in Azerbaijan, with students of the Karabakh Weekend School in Nantes, France.

The opening ceremony featured speeches by Akram Abdullayev, Executive Director of the Azerbaijan Diaspora Support Fund, Gasim Nasirov, Chairman of the Azerbaijan Cultural Center in Switzerland, trainer Lala Huseynzada, and Asband Fataliyeva, representative of the Azerbaijan–France Cultural Association. The speakers emphasized that care and support for children are among the key priorities of Azerbaijan’s state policy and highlighted the importance of the project in this regard.

The participation of the children of martyrs together with Azerbaijani children living abroad is expected to contribute to the formation of a new generation of the Azerbaijani diaspora, strengthen their ties with the Motherland, and help young Azerbaijanis abroad gain a deeper understanding of the truth about Azerbaijan, while learning more about the heroism of those who sacrificed their lives for the country's territorial integrity.

The VIII Twinned Karabakh Schools Summer Camp, which began on 17 July, will continue until 23 July.
