A solemn event on the occasion of Independence Day of Azerbaijan and the 100th anniversary of the birth of Heydar Aliyev was held in “Four Seasons” hotel of Seoul.

Korean officials, heads of various institutions and organizations, including Lee Yun-yong, president of the Korea International Cooperation Agency, Kim Byeong-kwan , president of the Korea Importers Association, Kim Gi-hyon, vice president of the Korea International Trade Association, Farhad Abdullayev, Chairman of the Constitutional Court of the Republic of Azerbaijan who was on a visit to Korea, heads of accredited diplomatic missions in Seoul, representatives of the leading Korean companies, scientific and public organizations, higher education institutions, think tanks and media outlets,  as well as  Azerbaijani students studying in Korea and diaspora members attended the event. 

The event started with the national anthems of Azerbaijan and Korea and followed by the speeches of Ramin Hasanov, ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Korea and Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the state Committee on Work with Diaspora. 

Lim Su-Seok, the deputy minister of foreign affairs of Korea for public affairs, who attended the event as guest of honor on behalf of the Korean government and So Byeong-su, head of the working group on Korea-Azerbaijani inter-parliamentary relations, delivered congratulatory speeches.

"Jengy" group, headed by People's Artist of Azerbaijan Mirjavad Jafarov presented a concert of Azerbaijani ethno-jazz music. The embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Republic of Korea and Fund for Support to Azerbaijan Diaspora supported a concert program by "Jengy" group. 

An exhibition of books and materials about the rich heritage of national leader Heydar Aliyev was held in the lobby of the "Four Seasons" hotel.
