Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora Fuad Muradov met with Akram Tarhini, president of Azerbaijan-Lebanon Friendship Association.

Welcoming the guest, Committee Chairman highly appreciated the efforts of the newly established association in this area, emphasizing the friendship between the two countries. Chairman spoke about the successful diaspora policy led by President Ilham Aliyev. He noted that the projects carried out abroad, as well as Azerbaijan Houses, Coordination Councils, weekend schools play a great role in organizing of our compatriots, and preserving loyalty to the Motherland.

Akram Tarhini thanked for honestly reception, and gave detailed information about the activities of the Association led by him.  He underlined their interest in implementing joint projects in the future, expanding humanitarian and cultural initiatives, as well as further developing cooperation in a more systematic and sustainable manner.

At the same time, an exchange of views was held on implementation of initiatives that contribute to the development of relations, carrying out joint projects, and expanding cooperation on an institutional basis.

It should be noted that Akram Tarhini is a Lebanese citizen, who received higher education in Azerbaijan. The members of the Azerbaijan–Lebanon Friendship Association, established in August 2025, are Lebanese alumni who studied in our country in different years. This alumni network is a significant platform for strengthening cooperation between the two friendly countries in education, culture, and social spheres.
