A meeting with the Azerbaijani community was held in Italy
29 April, 2024Within the framework of his visit to Italy, Fuad Muradov, chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, met with the Azerbaijani community in Italy.
The event, began with the playing of the National Anthem of Azerbaijan. Then, the dear memory of the martyrs who died for the territorial integrity of our country was commemorated with a minute's silence.
Meeting participants were provided with the information about the diaspora policy of our country, large-scale projects implemented by the State Committee, including Coordination Councils, Azerbaijani Houses, weekend schools operating abroad, Summer Camps of the Diaspora Youth, Brain-gain program, specialized forums held by the Committee.
Recalling President Ilham Aliyev's recommendations to our compatriots sounded at the 5th Congress of the World Azerbaijanis (Victory Congress), the chairman of the committee has noted that the Azerbaijanis of the world, including the Azerbaijani community in Italy, remain loyal to the ideology of Azerbaijanism and actively participate in the propagation of the Azerbaijani truths.
The employees of the Embassy of the Republic of Azerbaijan in Italy and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to the Holy See (Vatican) Ilgar Mukhtarov also took part in the meeting with the Azerbaijani community in Italy.
Reports by Farid Abbasov, coordinator of Coordination Council of Azerbaijanis in Italy (for Rome) and Turkan Hasanova, coordinator of Coordination Council of Azerbaijanis in Italy (for Venice) were heard. Then, Aynur Ashurova (Rome), Fidan Abdullazade (Milan), Elvin Babayev (Milan), Aysel Shabiyeva (Malta) were elected coordinators of Coordination Council of Azerbaijanis in Italy, and Karim Ismayilov (Rome) was elected the chairman of the youth association. Our compatriots expressed their gratitude for the trust shown towards them.
Opinions were exchanged and questions of our compatriots were answered.
The Vice-President of the Italy-Azerbaijan Association in Milan, founder and director of "Eurasiaticanews" Carlo Marino, Vice-President of the Naples-Baku Association Elnur Jamalkhanov and community member Lala Zeynalova were awarded with Medal of the Republic of Azerbaijan “For service in Diaspora activity”, and on the behalf of the State Committee, letters of gratitude were presented to the active members of the Azerbaijani community.
It should be noted that nowadays 29 Azerbaijani Houses are operating in 15 countries of the world, while 15 Coordination Councils of Azerbaijanis gather around our compatriots living in 36 countries of the world.
