The meeting with the Azerbaijani community living in Dusseldorf and surrounding cities was held

Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora Fuad Muradov met with the Azerbaijani community living in Dusseldorf and surrounding cities in Germany.

The meeting commenced with the playing of the National Anthem of Azerbaijan, continued with a minute’s silence, as a mark of respect to the dear memory of martyrs, who died for the territorial integrity of our country.

Nuran Abdullayev, Chairman of the Board of the Alliance of Azerbaijanis in Germany informed the participants about the organization’s activity. He highlighted the role of our compatriots living in this country in the effective operation of the alliance.

Committee Chairman expressed his gratitude to our compatriots for their contributions to Azerbaijani diaspora. He spoke about successful large-scale projects of the Committee and diaspora, Azerbaijan Houses abroad, Coordination councils, weekend Azerbaijani schools, the successful consolidation process among our compatriots, and other important directions of the diaspora activity.

It was noted that the diaspora policy, founded by the National Leader, is being further enriched and elevated to a new level today under President Ilham Aliyev, and emphasized that every Azerbaijani living abroad remains under the attention of the state.

The undeniable services of First Vice President Mehriban Aliyeva in promoting Azerbaijani culture worldwide were highlighted, and it was noted that Azerbaijanis living abroad highly appreciate these efforts.

In her speech, Sabina Mammadova, member of the Board of the Alliance of Azerbaijanis in Germany, head of the “Mugham” German-Azerbaijani Music Union and a pianist,  spoke about the efforts to unite Azerbaijanis living in different countries, and expressed her gratitude to the Azerbaijani government for its attention and care for the diaspora.

Subsequently, the videos, depicting the victory of Azerbaijan in Karabakh were displayed and met with applause.

During the meeting, questions from the diaspora members were answered, proposals regarding modern conceptual approaches to community development were voiced, and future prospects were widely discussed.

The event continued with the artistic part. Violinists Farhad Garayusifli, Anne-Heloise Gevers, a composer, singer, and multi-instrumentalist Seyran Ismayilkhanov living in Germany, Italian opera singer mezzo-soprano Chinara Shirinova, pianist Sabina Mammadova, Mugham TV Contest laureate Vusala Jabir, and other delightful music were met with applause.

It should be noted that more than 200 compatriots from over 25 cities in Germany attended the community meeting.

In recent years, the State Committee on Work with Diaspora has been systematically organizing meetings with Azerbaijanis living in various countries, listening to their suggestions and concerns, and analyzing efforts to create a unified diaspora network.
