The meeting with Azerbaijani community living in Denmark, was held in Copenhagen. The meeting began with the National Anthem of Azerbaijan continued with a minute’s silence, as a mark of respect to the dear memory of martyrs, who died for the territorial integrity of our country.

Mehriban Aliyeva Sadighi, Chairman of the Denmark-Azerbaijan "Vatan" Society gave detailed information about the activities of Azerbaijani community, as well Denmark-Azerbaijan "Vatan" Society. The video depicting the implemented work by the Society was displayed.

Fuad Muradov, the Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, spoke about the diaspora policy of the state of Azerbaijan, emphasized that the President Ilham Aliyev has successfully continued this policy, which was founded by the National Leader Heydar Aliyev. He noted the state of Azerbaijan pays special attention to the Azerbaijanis living abroad. At the meeting, it was given detailed information about the activity of the Committee, Azerbaijan Houses abroad, Coordination councils, weekend Azerbaijani schools, implemented large-scale projects of the Committee.

Asgar Naghiyev, the first secretary of the embassy of Azerbaijan in Norway, Sweden, Finland and Denmark mentioned in his speech the importance of the community meeting in the networking of the diaspora and in further intensifying ties with Azerbaijan.

Professor of Neurology at the University of Copenhagen, Head of the International Headache Society, Director of the Human Migraine Research Unit, professor Dr. Mesud Ashina drew attention our compatriots’ role in protecting their interests in the international area.

Ozgur Kafadar, the secretary general of Turkey's embassy in Denmark, also attended at the meeting.

The members of the community highly appreciated the holding of such a large-scale meeting for the first time in Denmark, the exchange of ideas in various areas and expressed their intention to continue contributing to diaspora policy.

At the end, the meeting of the Scandinavian Azerbaijani Coordination Council was held, Mesud Ashina was elected coordinator of Denmark.

The community meeting took place with the moderation of Amid Huseynov, the deputy chairman of the Denmark-Azerbaijan “Vatan” Society, and Leyla Gasimova, a member of the society.

It is noteworthy that in accordance with President Ilham Aliyev's policy of constant attention and care for Azerbaijani communities and compatriots abroad, the State Committee for Work with Diaspora systematically organizes meetings with Azerbaijanis living in various countries, listens to the proposals and problems of our compatriots, and takes necessary steps towards the creation of a unified network of world Azerbaijanis.
