Committee Chairman visited the Turkish Embassy in Japan, the Sasakawa Peace Foundation and Tokyo branch of the Yunus Emre University
13 June, 2024Fuad Muradov, Chairman of the State Committee on Work with Diaspora, within the framework of his visit to Japan, met with the ambassador of Turkey to this country Korkut Gungen.
Welcoming the guest, the ambassador has told that the number of members of the Turkish community in Japan is increasing year by year.
Fuad Muradov informed about the activities the projects implemented by the Committee and the Azerbaijani community in Japan and Azerbaijani-Turkish cooperation in the diaspora and lobbying carried out under the slogan “One Nation, two states”.
Ambassador of the Republic of Azerbaijan to Japan Gursel Ismayilzada and Khalil Kalantar, chairman of Azerbaijan-Japan Friendship Center also took part the meeting.
The next meeting was held at the Tokyo branch of Yunus Emre University. Huseyn Umit Tuna, head of the representative office, informed about their projects and expressed interest in cooperation with the Azerbaijani community in Japan.
Speaking about the activities of the Committee and Fund for Support to Azerbaijani Diaspora, the Chairman stressed that the Azerbaijani community around the world cooperates closely with the Turkish community. Khalil Kalantar, chairman of Azerbaijan-Japan Friendship Center, also took part the meeting.
The chairman also met with Mr. Yohei Sasakawa, the chairman of the Sasakawa Peace Foundation. Welcoming the guest, Yohei Sasakawa spoke about the importance of peace in the world, talked about the activities of the foundation and its assistance for people affected by conflicts.
Fuad Muradov gave information about the activity of the Committee and the work done to integrate Azerbaijanis living abroad into local societies. It was also noted that the Azerbaijani Army ended the 30-year occupation under the leadership of the Victorious Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces Ilham Aliyev in 44 days.
